A. Sidiq (Sid) Ali is an educational evaluation specialist, holding an Ontario Teaching Certificate (OTC), and the Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation, recognized by the Canadian Evaluation Society. Since starting his own consulting firm in 2008, he has been developing and evaluating education and credentialing programs for professional associations, such as the Society of Certified Management Accountants of Canada, and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada; regulators of professions, such as the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the College of Nurses of Ontario; and for private corporations, such the Royal Bank of Canada and Zebra Technologies. Much of this work involves facilitating training in assessment development, data analytics and visualization, and elements of program evaluation, such as logic models. Sid has experience as a classroom teacher and research officer at the Peel District School Board, a sessional instructor in Classroom Assessment at Brock University, and Research and Public Policy at Humber College, and as a research and evaluation consultant on several projects for the Ontario Ministry of Education. He earned a M.Ed. and Ph.D. from OISE/UofT in Measurement and Evaluation, and has written pieces in trade publications like the Ontario Principals Council Register and the Canadian Government Executive Magazine and published peer-reviewed articles in the Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation and the Alberta Journal of Educational Research.
